This is the area where I can provide you with the most value, and it’s also the most common reason that clients hire me.  Whether its helping you meet your various tax filing requirements (personal/corporate/trust/estate), helping you reduce your taxes within your current family or corporate structure, or restructuring in an effort to reduce your tax exposure, I want to help you – there are various approaches depending on your specific situation, let’s chat.

US Personal Tax Filing

A subset of the above, requiring its own heading is US personal tax filing.  If you’re a US citizen living in Canada, or a Canadian resident with investment in US real estate, you’re likely aware of your US tax filing requirements (generally being more comprehensive than those of Canada, and typically carrying greater potential penalty exposure as well); I can file your Form 1040 and 1040NR returns.

Mergers and Acquisitions

I advises on the various aspects of business purchase and sale transactions, advising purchasers on tax-efficient structures for the acquisition and advising sellers on tax-efficient structures for sale.  In terms of selling, often some planning is required in advance in an effort to minimize taxes (typically at least 2 years in advance) – don’t wait!

Estate Planning and Succession

Income tax considerations are a key part of your estate planning, especially important for business owners.  If it’s approaching time to transition your business/wealth/assets to the next generation, plan for the funding of final tax liabilities, minimize probate fee exposure, or consider other aspects of your estate planning, give us a shout.

Whether you’re needing financial statements for internal purposes, as part of your corporate tax filings, or if a review is required, I can probably help.
